Pool sessions

Pool sessions are a fantastic opportunity for you to practise key skills in a sheltered and, most importantly, warm environment. Our British Canoeing qualified coaches will be there to assist you with learning how to:

  • capsize and exit the boat safely and build water confidence;
  • rescue other paddlers in difficulty;
  • rescue yourself from the water; or
  • roll the kayak and or improve your roll and develop other paddle skills.

These skills are essential for anyone who wants to try white-water kayaking, and are very useful for all other disciplines. You don’t have to be a member to come to one of our pool sessions; they’re a great way to meet new people, make friends, and enjoy kayaking with people of a similar mind-set. We often have new people visit us most weeks, so don’t be afraid to give it a go!
